Planned Parenthood Affiliates of California

Overview

On the first anniversary of the overturning of Roe v. Wade, Planned Parenthood Affiliates of California launched a statewide public awareness and advocacy campaign designed to educate Californians about the impact of the decision, increase understanding of reproductive healthcare access, and mobilize public engagement across multiple audiences and channels.

Challenge

The anniversary of the Dobbs decision represented a highly visible and emotionally charged moment requiring clear, accurate, and actionable information. Audiences were navigating a rapidly evolving policy landscape, widespread misinformation, and varying levels of understanding about how reproductive healthcare access was changing across California and the United States.

The campaign needed to communicate complex legal, healthcare, and policy information in ways that were accessible, trustworthy, and actionable while maintaining consistency across statewide communications.

Approach

Led content strategy, information design, and campaign communications for a statewide anniversary initiative spanning digital channels, advocacy communications, stakeholder resources, executive messaging, and public-facing engagement materials.

Partnered with policy experts, healthcare leaders, communications teams, and affiliate organizations to translate complex legislative and healthcare information into clear content that helped audiences understand the implications of the Dobbs decision and available pathways to care and action.

Developed a unified content framework, messaging architecture, and creative strategy that ensured consistency across multiple audiences, platforms, and organizational stakeholders.
